Making a Face Mask Form

Making a clay drape mold of a face to use as a press mold for many copies of the same face.

1.  Roll an even slab.
2.  Lay on the table or floor and have a friend (or the teacher) press the slab over your face.
Don't forget breathing holes.

3.  After the clay has taken the form you want, build up with rings of clay to keep the clay from collapsing when you flip it onto a bat.

Fun and just a little scary!

4.  Sit up and bend over so the clay releases off your face.

It's not an exact replica, and not as detailed as a plaster mask, but after being fired in the kiln will be useful for press mold copies.
